Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan reversed the transfer of two erstwhile special secretaries of former AP chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in a brief bureaucratic reshuffle on Tuesday night.
KS Jawahar Reddy, a 1990 batch IAS officer who served as Special Secretary to the former CM, was posted as Secretary, Irrigation and Command Area Development, a day before Kiran resigned from his post.
Today, Jawahar was made Secretary of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department.
Similarly, N Sridhar (1997), who too used to be Kiran's Special Secretary, shifted from the Andhra Pradesh Beverages Corporation to the School Education Department as its Secretary.
Orders reversing last minute postings by the former AP Chief Minister have come amidst reports that the Governor, who took charge of the Andhra Pradesh administration under President's rule, has started "reviewing" controversial decisions by Kiran during the last days of his stint.
V Nagi Reddy (1984 batch) has been made the new Principal Secretary of Irrigation and Command Area Development Department, according to an order issued by Chief Secretary Prasanna Kumar Mohanty. Interestingly, Aditya Nath Das (1987) has been retained as Principal Secretary of Irrigation, cancelling his posting as Principal Secretary, Infrastructure and Investment.
M Surender, who was Officer on Special Duty to the former AP Chief Minister has been repatriated to his parent Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC) as its Executive Director, cancelling his earlier posting as Additional Registrar of Co-operatives.
In a related move, 2000 batch IAS officer Rahul Bojja has been relieved of his additional charge as Executive Director of APIIC, and posted as Special Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, while P Basanth Kumar (2007 batch) has been appointed Joint Secretary to the Governor even as Sridhar of the same batch has been made Joint Collector of Chittoor district.
Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police Tejdeep Kaur Menon (1983) has been posted as Commissioner of Printing and Stationery and AB Venkateswara Rao (1989 batch) has been posted as Director General, Special Protection Force, while JV Ramudu (1981 batch) has been given additional charge as Director General of Octopus in place of Rao.
Ake Ravi Krishna (2006 batch) was removed as head of the AP Chief Minister's Security Group and posted as Commandant of the AP Special Police's 4th Battallion at Warangal.
