Hyderabad: Former minister N Raghuveera Reddy, who has been appointed as head of Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra) Congress Committee, said here on Tuesday he would strive hard to revive the party in the region.
"There is a vaccum now (with many Congress leaders quitting the party). Other leaders should work hard. We should work together for strengthening the party," Reddy told reporters here today.
Reddy, a leader from backward Anantapur district of Rayalaseema region, was minister for revenue in the Congress led-Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
Raghuveera Reddy, a backward class leader, has been a senior leader in Congress and a minister for long.
Tonight, the Congress high command appointed Raghuveera Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmaiah as heads of Congress in Seemandhra and Telangana respectively.
