Rangia: Three persons, falsely claiming as ULFA militants, were nabbed by police in Lower Assam's Kamrup district on Monday.

On a tip off about the group sending extortion demand notes on fake ULFA note pads signed by its leader Drishti Asom, police launched an operation and picked up the three.

Police sources said, the ring teenaged leader had been released about six months ago after he was caught under Juvenile Justice provisions for possessing a pistol.

The two others apprehended with him were identified as Ajoy Nomosudra and Tutul das, the sources said.

A mobile handset through which their movement was tracked, several phone SIM cards and documents were recovered from them.

The group was sending extortion notes to doctors and businessman in last few months.
