  • They start chanting 'poor, poor, poor...' when elections approach.

  • Voter turnout shows it's a mandate for change.

  • There is massive corruption in Odisha, but it got eclipsed by the corruption in Delhi.

  • What has your CM given you? Has he ever come to meet you? What's the need to have such people? - asks Modi

  • Modi promises supporters, “I will transform Odisha like I have changed Gujarat”.

  • Government at the Centre does 'black magic', because of which coal, employment etc have vanished.

  • You have given 60 years to the Congress, 10 years to Sonia Gandhi, 15 years to BJD. Give me 60 months, I will transform your life.

With the first phase of simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls over in Odisha, the race has begun to woo voters who will cast their ballot in the second phase on April 17.

On Friday, North Odisha will witness as virtual face-off between BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The duo will address rallies in Balasore today.

Both the BJP and the Congress are seeking to break into the BJD citadel and the rallies by top leaders of the two parties is enough evidence of their effort.

Modi will address the rally at around 10 am at the Permit Field Ground at Balasore, where around one lakh people can be accommodated.

Sonia Gandhi, on the other hand, will address the crowd hours later at the ITI ground.

The two venues are just 3 kilometres apart.

The Balasore Lok Sabha seat is witnessing a triangular fight between Union Minister Srikant Jena, BJD's Rabindra Jena and BJP's Pratap Sarangi.
