Supreme Court sought CBI`s response on ex-BJP president Bangaru Laxman`s petition challenging the cognizance taken against him by a special court on the basis of the 2001 "Operation Westend" sting operation.

BJP on Tuesday said it was not averse to a tie-up with AIADMK for coming Tamil Nadu assembly polls as it favoured a broad-based alliance to defeat `corrupt forces` responsible for a series of scams and sharp price rise.
