The chairman of the UN`s panel of climate scientists defended his Nobel-winning group on Tuesday against criticism that it had erroneously forecast an early disappearance of the Himalayan glaciers.

Agreeing to "international consultations and analysis" in the Copenhagen Accord in no way challenges India`s sovereignty, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Director General R.K. Pachauri said Wednesday.
