Gujjars to be considered under BPL category: Bahuguna

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Saturday announced to set up a 15-member committee to address the problems of Gujjar community members, besides providing them facilities like food security, pension, scholarships as under the BPL category.

The government Wednesday said it will review the methodology for measuring poverty based on the findings of the NSSO Survey 2009-10.

An additional 72.32 lakh persons in the age group of 60-64 years and living below the poverty line will get pension benefits with the Government today lowering the age limit to 60.
